About From The Bleachers

From The Bleachers started as nothing more than a dream of starting a radio show. All four of the guys on the show came into college wanting to get into radio, but just weren't sure how or where. That's when the story began.

Dan Bahl, who lived in The Commons dorm, asked his neighbor, Conor Byrne, if he wanted to do a radio show. When he obliged, the pair then asked fellow freshman Matt McAuliffe if he would also like to join the charge. Matt joined as well.

Dan and Matt also shared a freshman journalism class with another freshman, Nick Beaudoin, or as Dan called him, "Portnoy". Yes, Nick looks like Dave Portnoy from Barstool. And yes, Dan still calls Nick "YP" on occasion. But, the real reason for the nickname was simple: Dan couldn't remember Nick's name.

Regardless, Nick joined the team as a fill-in host, and soon became a regular on the program. Together, the quartet would start to make a name for themselves, taking home the award for Best Sports Show from WQAQ, the radio station on which the show airs.

In Year Two, the guys wanted to make sure of one thing: there was no regressing, just continuing to build the brand. That's when they made the vital decision to add Sophia Alfieri, a fellow sophomore, as the show's official Social Media Manager.

This move proved to be the cherry-on-top, as the show would go on to win back-to-back Show of the Year Awards from WQAQ, for both the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters.

FTB has been joined by a number of esteemed guests, both in-studio and over the phone, and each semester's Trivia Night broadcast always makes for one of the biggest radio spectacles at Quinnipiac.

The magic of From The Bleachers isn't in the big events, or the showy guests. It's the chemistry between the hosts, and the understanding that each week, you never know quite what's going to happen once the microphones are turned on.

Now, the FTB family is well over a dozen strong, and looking to turn the heads of the media world, one day at a time.

So thanks for stopping by, and we hope you enjoy.
